Couples Get More Serious During Tough Times

While the down turning economy may be bad for most industries, surveys show that the recession has proven to be a good thing for many relationships and marriages. Since money is tighter and lavish spending is taking the backseat couples are turning to each other for entertainment.

Gone are the days where weekend getaways were a common occurrence and dinner out with the boys or the girls was a weekly activity. Time to turn to the one you promised your life to and spend some quality time. Talking, watching TV and even renting a movie is now more popular than ever before.

So while there may be a little more to argue about such as spending less and losing a job might be tough but since couples have more time to spend together they are working through their problems instead of turning to another source such as going out with friends to forget about problems or even worse yet turning to another person to “mend” the situation.

While stress is definitely an issue during this time that we are all facing together, who better to turn to than the one you come home to at the end of a busy work day?

There is no shame in learning more about the person you are with whether that has been 5 months or 15 years, so grab a movie, some dinner or a board game and do some real bonding together!

Looks like at least the recession is good for one thing! Now significant others are just hoping that things stay this way when the economy picks up and everything is back to normal!
