Online Dating Optimism

There is something that many don’t consider when it comes to online dating; Online dating is not a guaranteed way to meet someone that is going to be your absolute soul mate- it is simply another convenient method to help aid in that goal.

Many create a profile on an online dating website and truly believe that this is a formula for meeting a soul mate. This is not always the case. Like getting set up by friends, there are several outcomes that may result. Yes, you may fall deeply in love with the first person that you meet and you may be very lucky together in the future but chances are that you will need to go through several experiences before this happens so you must remain optimistic throughout the process.

Everyone (or at least most) on the online dating site are there for the same reason as you, they would like to meet someone to start and continue a relationship with. But with many different personalities, the chances of the first being a complete match is highly unlikely.

If you keep a positive attitude and start fresh with everyone that you meet online or otherwise then you will be much more likely to have an unbiased approach and meet the person that you have been dreaming about all along!

Meeting Someone When You Least Expect It

There is a reason that there is a saying “Things happen when you least expect it” and the same goes for meeting that special someone. Some people put all their efforts and energy into finding that special person to spend the rest of their lives with but the truth is sometimes it is okay to take a little break and wait for that special person to come along.

If you are not focusing your efforts solely on meeting a person than you may be likely to do other things that you enjoy and perhaps run into a person that you never planned on meeting. This could happen online while in a chat room or even when you are taking your dog for a walk.

It is said that if you focus all the time on meeting someone you may be masking your true self and turning away people that could have been a great match for you. If you try to simply stay true to yourself and make time to enjoy the things you love than love will find you.

Chances are you won’t be alone forever, so it is okay to take time off from finding that special someone here and there but if you are looking for a good way to meet someone quickly than going online and creating an online dating profile is a good idea. But keep in mind you may need to meet a few special someone’s before you find the perfect one!

Things that you should never talk about on a First Date

There are a few things that are great table talk on a first date such as the weather, the politics and maybe even the gossip about the latest Hollywood couple. But there are a few things that specialist suggest stays off the table for the first few dates and perhaps even the next few thereafter.
]
Things that are not up for discussion, are as follows; your previous relationships! This a big no-no, do not compare and do not discuss, no one wants to know why they are better or why they don’t add up to the ex.

Your sex life! If you are hoping this person likes you and you would like to see them again on anything other than an intimate level than perhaps its best to keep it as clean as possible. A first kiss is not out of the question but talking about what you like in the better is better kept until you actually know your partners shoe size.

Also, do not discuss marriage, even if the date is going really well and you have a feeling that you are soul mates, it’s probably better just to let the relationship grow and make sure that you are both on exactly the same page before announcing that you think they are the one for you.

Simply keep in mind that you are meeting this person for the first time and chances are they would like to keep it as simple as possible the first time around so if you think something would rub you the wrong way if you heard it from a stranger than chances are it would rub them the wrong way too.

Your First Real Life Encounter with an Online Dating Candidate

So you have chatted online, through emails and maybe even on the telephone and you are finally ready to meet that special someone face to face for the first time. Chances are that since you have decided to take this step you quite like each other and are excited to meet this person: take a step back, you can be excited but do not hype your expectations to high because you may be unfortunately disappointed.

If you walk in there with normal expectations then you can be pleasantly surprised if things go well and only gentle upset if they don’t.

There are a few steps you should always follow when you have plans to meet someone from an online dating service for the first time. You should always plan to make the first few encounters at a very public location such as a shopping mall or a busy coffee shop, it would also be ideal to do this during daylight. Many people do not turn out to be who they actually claim to be and often times your intuition tells you to cut it short, it is much easier to do this in public than at someone’s home or another private location.

And last but certainly not least it is very important that a few of your closest contacts know exactly where you are. Call your best friend, your brother, even your mother and let them know where you plan to be that night, at what time, with whom and what time you plan to be home.

Chances are that if you have a great connection it will continue on but it is absolutely better to be safe than sorry.

Online Dating Rises in Popularity during Recession

There were several thoughts that online dating was becoming more and more popular but not the stats are confirmed. Online dating is on the rise since the beginning of the recession.

Online dating has been around for a bit of time now, and although it is a new industry in comparison to consumer packaged goods it is still one that people have accepted into their daily lives.

In the UK, online dating has shown some serious pick up since the pickup (or rather down turn) of the recession. From September 2008 until February 2009, a matter of only 5 months, online dating grew by 13% and reached 13% of the online population within the UK.

Reports showed that both men and women were equally as like to partake in the online shopping of significant others. Those that did go online searching for love would spend roughly 4 hours a month doing so at a maximum.

Those that weren’t as keen on the idea but showed at least slight interest spent an hour per month in total.

Online dating is now considered “a safe and interesting way to meet new people” by many of those that were asked to comment on what they thought by choosing a statement that best reflected their opinion on the subject at hand.

Taking the Perfect Profile Picture

So here’s the deal: you finally decide to create an online dating profile. You log on to your chosen online dating website and then you come to an area that requests you to upload a photo of yourself of the somewhat recent nature.

What next? Well there are a few options; you could always leave this for later and go out to take some proper pictures that you can upload or you could go through your computer and upload the most extravagant picture of yourself in your best attire.

Here is what we suggest: Go out and take a photo. Follow these next tips and you will be well on your way to properly represent yourself.

No matter whether you are the most or least photogenic person in the world it is important to represent yourself properly. Take a picture that makes you look most like you. There is absolutely no sense in passing along a photo that looks nothing like you because once (if) you meet the other person in person they will not even recognize you and that’s not fair to you or them.

There is a few ways to get a great photo. Concentrate on taking an average photo, make sure there are no distractions in the picture and you are the main focus. Take the picture length wise so that you are the main focus. Take the picture with good lighting, check for weird shadows, dress casually, don’t wear hats, and always smile.

This should get you on your way to a great picture and many interested individuals that you can check out for yourself.

First Impressions in Online Dating

Often times a first impression can make or break you and unfortunately in the world of online dating making a great first impression can be a very difficult task as the first form of interaction is often an email to stranger that you have never met before.

This brings us to the point of the subject line in an email. The subject line in an email is your first impression when it comes to online dating. So remember that you want this to be a true reflection of what you are actually trying to say or the point that you are trying to bring across.

Think of it this way, if you were applying for a job and you were about to send your resume over because you got the name of the hiring manager from a good friend of yours, would you title the resume “hi”…probably not.

Chances of somebody opening a message that said “hi” are pretty low and the chances of them being interested in this email are even lower. So why not be a little original and say something like “resume from amazing candidate for sales manager” or in this case “a little about me” or something else creative and fun that would catch your attention if you were reading this email.

Just remember there is only one real chance to make a first impression so be yourself and do it right! As long as you can catch their attention you have done the job that you were looking to accomplish from the get go.

Going Rates for Finding Love

With the economy in rough shape these days it’s nice to get something for nothing. Well there is definitely a going rate for love these days, at least when it comes to finding love online. Many online dating sites are offering people a chance to find love for free but others are charging up a storm.

As with everything in life, there seems to be a common misconception that you get what you pay for, but what about those lucky times that a freebie can actually be a good thing?

Well when it comes to online dating you may just be in luck. There are a ton of sites that offer paid memberships to be on the dating database but there are also quite a few that offer the same connection for free.

The free sites are not just there to cater to singles meeting their match but they benefit from being on the web for other reasons such as getting paid advertising and other online connections. So just because a website is offering you a free service does not mean that there is some kind of catch or hidden intention.

There has been a turn in traffic too, now more than before singles that are online log into the free sites much more frequently than they paid sites. So your perfect match may just be waiting for you on the other end of the internet connection.

So take a freebie, sign up, and start chatting away, you never know who you may meet next! And if all ends well then there is nothing better than a story of a free internet romance!
